International Symposium “Intellectual Property in Innovative Economy – Technology Transfer from Universities to Industry”
The Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, the European Patent Office, the Jagiellonian University and the Krakow University of Technology organized jointly an international Symposium “Intellectual Property in Innovative Economy – Technology Transfer from Universities to Industry”.
The Symposium was held on 6-7 September 2007 in Collegium Novum of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. Best organizational and legal solutions in effective partnership of science and industry in the countries of the European Union, the USA and Japan were presented during the Symposium. Eminent scientists, experts from Poland and other countries participated with their lectures and a debate that followed concerning implementation of Polish science in technology transfer was directed mainly to the subject of the development of innovative economy. Effective implementation of up-to-date technology that is produced in academic centers is one of the key elements of intellectual property management in modern, knowledge based society. Among the participants in the sessions and panel discussions of the
Symposium were rectors and academics from leading Polish universities, academies, and research and development centers, as well as managers of business incubators and technology transfer centers. Over 150 visitors from Poland and other countries participated in the Symposium.
